Contractors from both Viti Levu and Vanua Levu discuss ongoing work and future plans at the first stakeholder workshop.

The workshop aimed to strengthen communication and collaboration between FHCL and its contractors. It provided an opportunity for both parties to share updates, raise issues, and talk through ways to improve operations.

FHCL General Manager Semi Dranibaka said these kinds of consultations are important to ensure that the company and its contractors are aligned in their efforts.

“It is very important and beneficial to have consultations like this so that we can understand what is really happening on the ground and identify ways to further improve our operations,” said Dranibaka. “The insights and feedback we receive from our contractors are vital in guiding our future direction.”

During the session, contractors shared their experiences and gave feedback on current processes. Many said they appreciated the chance to speak openly and supported the idea of holding more regular workshops in the future.

The event ended with FHCL reaffirming its commitment to working closely with contractors to improve the quality and sustainability of mahogany production in Fiji.
