Acting Permanent Secretary Yauvoli Visits Fiji Hardwood Corporation Limited

Suva, Fiji – The Acting Permanent Secretary for Civil Service and Public Enterprises, Mr. Amenatave Yauvoli, paid a courtesy visit to the Fiji Hardwood Corporation Limited (FHCL) headquarters in Tamavua this morning. This marked Mr. Yauvoli’s first official engagement with FHCL since his appointment as Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Public Enterprises.

Mr. Yauvoli was warmly received by FHCL General Manager, Mr. Semi Dranibaka, who expressed appreciation for the visit and its significance.

“We are honoured by Mr. Yauvoli’s presence today,” Mr. Dranibaka stated. “It is a sign of support and recognition for the work we are doing here at FHCL. We look forward to more visits of this nature in the near future.”

FHCL Chairman, Mr. Iowane Naiveli, also welcomed the engagement and expressed optimism about the company’s collaboration with the Ministry.

“We look forward to strengthening our relationship with the Ministry, particularly given the nature of our work,” Mr. Naiveli said. “As we engage closely with landowners, the support of the Ministry is not only valuable but essential to the success and integrity of our operations.”

During the visit, Mr. Dranibaka provided a comprehensive briefing on FHCL’s progress, operational milestones, and future strategic plans.

In response, Mr. Yauvoli conveyed his appreciation for the update and commended the corporation for its dedication to responsible management and long-term development.

“It is encouraging to see the level of commitment and strategic thinking at FHCL,” Mr. Yauvoli remarked. “The government remains committed to supporting state-owned enterprises that demonstrate strong governance, accountability, and a clear vision for excellence.”

The visit concluded with discussions on further avenues for collaboration between the Ministry and FHCL to strengthen the company’s performance and stakeholder engagement.
