An exciting day for FHCL as the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry and the Chairman for the Mahogany Industry Council visited HQ.
The Chairmanship for the Mahogany Industry Council(MIC) has changed from the PM to the Minister for Forestry and Fisheries and as the Chairman of MIC, the Hon. Kalaveti Ravu welcomed discussions on some of the changes or ideas that Fiji Hardwood would like to submit to the council.
The FHCL General Manager had stated –
That is why his visit today was to come and talk to Fiji Hardwood, courtesy visit on what are some of the proposed restructures that Fiji Hardwood is going into so that he can facilitate as the Chairman of the Mahogany Industry Council.
So we have discussed various issues, one of them is to give more flexibility to the Fiji Hardwood board and the management of the company to make some decisions as well.

I feel happy that the government is there to support us with the Ministers.
We just have to do our own part so that we keep on meeting and discussing for the sake of the company and for the sake of the landowners going forward.
