What are the future plans for Fiji Hardwood Corporation?

Our General Manager, Mr Semi Dranibaka, answers the question- “What are the future plans for Fiji Hardwood Corporation?” in the video below.

He talked about how he started in 2021 and the importance of documentation in the work they do. Looking back at the reports that were available and creating a strategy for the next 5-10 years for Fiji Hardwood.

When I started in 2021, we wanted to look back and see what were the reports in the past, how was Fiji Hardwood operating and what is the status of Fiji Hardwood. But we can only access all the audit reports, we can access the other years reports. So documentation is very important in the progress of work that we do.

So from 2021 we started, first we need to have a plan of work. So we drafted our National Corporative Plan, which is basically our strategic plan. We also drafted our business plan and we have submitted to the Ministry of Public Enterprise to assist us.

And also we need to have this plan, where would Fiji Hardwood be in the next 5 to 10 years? So in our plan, it states that we need to continue to up our production, we need to have good markets, we need to see that our workers are paid well and follow the standards of work that needs to be engaged on them.

We need to have forest certification, meaning that our product is certified, meaning that we have met all the standards of work that we need to do and selling the product internationally.
