Fiji Hardwood Corporation Limited Announce Ms. Faranisese Tatila Gavidi as Deputy Chairperson

Suva, Fiji–31 October, 2025 – The Fiji Hardwood Corporation Limited (FHCL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Faranisese Tatila Gavidi as the new Deputy Chairperson of its Board of Directors, effective September 1, 2025.

The announcement was made by the Chairman of the FHCL Board, Mr. Iowane Naiveli, following a Board Meeting held on 29th August, 2025. This significant appointment is in accordance with the provisions of the Public Enterprise Act, (Section 32, (2).

Ms. Gavidi has been a valuable member of the FHCL Board, serving as a director since her initial appointment in April 2023. She brings a wealth of experience, with an extensive in legal background to the Deputy Chairperson role, which will be instrumental in guiding the Corporation’s strategic direction and upholding the principles of good governance.

Ms. Gavidi is an accomplished legal professional with 21 years of experience in Fiji Revenue and Customs Service with expertise in Strategic legal advisory, regulatory framework, and policy development and specializes in taxation and customs laws and regulatory compliances. She is currently pursuing her MBA at University of the South Pacific (USP).

Ms. Gavidi is the first women to hold the Deputy Chairperson position on the FHCL Board, marking a significant milestone for the corporation and for women in Fiji’s public sector.
